Hawaiian has more than one word for “we.” Kākou is the inclusive one: all of us, you and me together, nobody left out. When someone says “it’s a kākou thing,” they mean we are in this together.
That is how we want our clients to feel about their bookkeeping.
A small business is a team sport
Behind every Hawaiʻi small business there are more people than the owner: family members who help on weekends, a front-desk manager, a property manager, a banker, an insurance agent, sometimes an attorney. When the books are right, everybody on that team works from the same numbers.
- Your staff know how to send us receipts and invoices, and who to ask when something doesn’t fit.
- Your lender gets clean financial statements when you renew a line of credit or apply for a loan.
- Your tax return is built from books that were already closed every month, so there is no year-end scramble.
We win when you win
Fixed monthly fees keep us on the same side of the table. We don’t make more money when things are messy or when you call more often. We do better when your business does better and stays with us for years.
Kākou also means community
Our clients are restaurants, vacation rentals, small hotels and B&Bs, contractors, retail shops and sole proprietors. Many of them do business with each other. A healthy small-business community on Hawaiʻi Island is good for all of us, and doing honest, careful work for each of them is how we contribute.
What we ask of you
Kākou runs both ways. Send documents when you have them, tell us when something changes, and ask questions when the numbers surprise you. We will do the rest.
If you are ready to add someone to the team, book a free 30-minute call.
